Mr. Cheng is proud to have been associated with the launch, growth and eventual spin-off of several integrated marketing, marketing research and call center operations employing hundreds of talented associates with offices throughout the United States, keeping strong reciprocal relationships and benefiting from the services of the management and employee purchased operations in which he has been privileged to mentor; many of the top talent within Fortis Research originated from those organizations.
Graduating from the University of Michigan, Winston Cheng holds a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing.
For his undergraduate studies, Winston Cheng was awarded a full-merit scholarship, attending Wayne State University's School of Engineering. Additionally, Mr. Cheng has pursued post-graduate courses in Marketing, Business and Program Development at the University of California - Berkeley, San Francisco State University as well as certificate programs by the San Francisco Mayor's Officer of Community Development, United Way and the Support Center of San Francisco.
In addition to his work in the private and corporate sector, Winston Cheng is committed to supporting his community by providing his development services to non-profit organization's business development and employment programs.
Some of his accomplishments include development and procurement of funding for a pilot multi-million dollar computer training program through the State of California Employment Training Panel. Winston Cheng and Fortis Research has provided program development and administration services for the Private Industry Council's Title lll and On the Job Training programs, as well as the San Francisco Mayor's Office of Community Development and State Assembly Bill 90 Program.
Mr. Cheng has sat on the San Francisco Human Rights Commission, and served as the United Way Agency Campaign Coordinator for 3 years, winning a United Way Silver Award for Service.
Born in Hong Kong the oldest son of a motorcycle mechanic and forever grateful for his father's decision to immigrate to America, Winston Cheng spent his childhood in the hallway of his grandma's apartment off Canal Street in New York City; he remembers where he comes from and what it took to get here and is grateful for and committed to earning every opportunity past, present and future.
